Skilled Eye Doctors You Can Trust Read Our 5-Star Reviews
Amazing. I can see like I am 18 again. I had no idea how badly cataracts had impacted my vision. I only knew something was wrong. Based on his excellent reputation, I called Dr. Lalin. He replaced the affected lenses in both eyes. I was able to continue working with almost no downtime and very little discomfort. Thank you, Dr. Lalin.
View On GoogleI was taking my friend here for cataract surgery and decided to make a regular checkup for myself. I felt everyone was patient and very thorough, from the technicians to the doctor, to ordering new glasses. My friend was ill that day and did not come with me to help choose new glasses. Lordes helped me, and I am very pleased. (The frames selected were also friend approved!) Thank you, Lordes! I would recommend them to everyone.

What Are Cataracts?
It's estimated that half of Americans age 75 and older suffer from cataracts. A cataract occurs when the naturally clear lens of the eye gradually begins to cloud over. They develop as a result of the natural aging process, damage from the UV rays of the sun, environmental factors, and rarely, injury. Protein buildup in the lens results in poor vision and could lead to blindness without treatment.
Treatment Options
If you have cataracts, ophthalmologists tend to treat them conservatively. Many patients simply require stronger glasses and assistive devices to compensate for their vision loss. Cataract surgery can be performed when the non-invasive treatments are no longer effective. An estimated 3.8 million cataract surgeries are performed in America each year, meaning it is safe, effective, and common.

Retinal Conditions and Retinal Surgery
Retinal Detachment
The retina is the thin layer of tissue at the back of the eye that is essential for proper vision. If you experience a retinal detachment or tear, it's crucial to seek emergency eye care. When it is treated in time, an ophthalmologist can repair the torn retinal tissue and prevent vision loss.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is a retinal condition that affects people who have suffered from diabetes for a long time. It results in damage to the blood vessels at the back of the eye, which can lead to permanent vision loss. Proper diabetes management and retinal surgery can treat the condition.
Macular Degeneration
Also referred to as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), macular degeneration involves the deterioration of the center of the retinal tissue. There are wet and dry varieties of AMD. Treatments for AMD may include dietary supplements, lifestyle changes, and laser eye surgery.
Macular Holes
Often associated with the aging process, macular holes adversely affect the central area of a person's vision. Early symptoms include distortions and dark spots in your central vision. Vitrectomy and other retinal surgeries can be used to restore better eyesight.
Central Serous Retinopathy
Central serous retinopathy occurs when fluid accumulates behind the retinal tissue. This can lead to distorted vision as well as dark spots in the central vision. Some cases of central serous retinopathy clear up on their own, though prescription medication and laser surgery may be required.
Cystoid Macular Edema
Cystoid macular edema (CME) is the swelling of the macula caused by injury, infection, disease, or eye surgery. Many times CME can be treated with oral medications or anti-inflammatory eye drops. Surgery may be required if non-surgical treatments do not reduce swelling.

"Always compassionate, friendly, and professional!" Trusted Eye Doctors in Hackettstown and Morristown, NJ
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere very pleasant. I did have to wait awhile for the optometrist, but the upside of that was that I had plenty of time to look at frames. The optician, Lourdes, was very helpful in finding the perfect style for me. I’m very pleased with my new glasses!

Putting the Needs of Patients First Proudly Serving Hackettstown, Morristown, and Beyond
I was in need of new glasses and a new prescription. The entire office staff is very helpful and professional. My eye exam went extremely well and as a result, these are the best glasses I’ve ever owned. My prescription is for progressive lenses over three ranges, and I honestly can’t see any blurriness or division between the ranges. My vision is crystal clear. I see everything with no strain or effort on my part. The frames and added features to my lenses are better than I expected. I couldn’t be more pleased with my care here!
View On GoogleGreat doctor! I had an emergency situation: my son had a piece of wood lodged in his eye. Dr. Lalin called me back within 10 minutes and met with me and my son late in the evening on a Friday night. That is clearly holding yourself to a higher standard and truly caring for people. We were not his regular patients, and that didn't matter to him. He still came out to see us. I would highly recommend this office.
