Dr. Harold S. Lappin graduated from NYU Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at the NYU Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is a past president of the medical staff at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, and a past president of the Warren County Medical Society.
Dr. Lappin moved to Hackettstown shortly after completing his training at NYU in New York City. Looking back after more than forty years of practice, Dr. Lappin notes “I really couldn’t imagine being anywhere else but Hackettstown. I feel very fortunate to be practicing medicine here in Hackettstown.” Currently, Dr. Lappin continues to practice comprehensive eye care in our Hackettstown office since joining Retina & Eye Specialists of New Jersey.
Dr. Lappin sees patients of all ages, infants to the elderly. He “couldn’t even attempt to accurately estimate the number of patients” he has treated over the years, and fondly recalls a handful of his patients who have reached age 100 or more. He particularly enjoys helping patients achieve a superior outcome after eye treatment, and as a result, improve their quality of life. “To make a positive difference in their health and their lives is what I try to do,” he explains.
Dr. Lappin resides in Hackettstown with his wife, Mary Beth, and still enjoys riding his bike to work on nice sunny days. He has two adult sons, Todd and Brad, who reside in California and Colorado, respectively, and a daughter, Hannah, who now lives in D.C.
